The opening concert for the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra's new season is on Saturday, October 30th; its theme Pictures refers to Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky/Ravel. The concert also celebrates the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth with a performance of his Piano Concerto No. 2, showcasing the talents of Cynthia Lawing on piano. Rounding out the concert -- with a nod to the upcoming holiday – are Rouse’s The Infernal Machine and Bach/Stokowski’s Toccata & Fugue in D Minor.
