Arts-in-Education Grants
The Arts-In-Education Grant unites artists and arts organizations with elementary, middle and high school students in Rowan County, funding programs designed to awaken their intellectual and creative curiosity. Three (3) grants of $1,000 each are available in this round.

Sponsorship

The Rowan Investment Company Arts-In-Education Grant is designed, funded and administered by The Rowan Arts Council with funding from Rowan Investment Company, F&M Bank, business and individual sponsorships and memberships.

Eligibility

Individual artists and non-profit arts and cultural organizations that are members of The Rowan Arts Council are eligible to apply. Individuals and Organizations that do not have an IRS determination letter are eligible, but must secure a tax-exempt organization that is a member of The Rowan Arts Council to act as a fiscal agent. Projects that take place outside of the public school system are permitted, provided the participating students are of elementary, middle or high school age and are in Rowan County. All persons participating in program must have Act 40 clearances.

Funding Restrictions

• Applicants may apply for one (1) Arts-In-Education Grant per calendar year January 1 through December 31.

• Grant Amount is for a maximum of $1,000.

• Arts-In-Education Grants funds may be used for an organization’s administrative or general operating expenses associated with conducting the project. 

• Matching funds are not required but applicant’s financial participation may be considered by panel.

Deadline
Applications must be received by The Rowan Arts Council’s office at 413 N Lee St, Salisbury, NC, 28144, by 5pm on Friday, January 16, 2009.

This is not a postmark deadline. Applications will not be accepted by fax or e-mail. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Written Notification:
All applicants will be notified by March 31, 2009 or sooner if they have received a grant and the amount of the award. Official notification will be by mail.
